| Making
mosaics from old dishes can be fun!
1. Using old or inexpensive dishes to make a mosaic table can be
done on old furniture, a piece of wood and a frame or (like here)
even an old cabinet door
2. Elmer's Woodglue works fine for this project and gives you a
longer drying time which allows you to place the pieces ... allow
space for grouting later
3. I used an old Lamp base for the leg of this table ... I took
out the wiring, it was made of plaster and easy to paint (and very
heavy!)
4. Once the design was dry, I grouted and covered with three coats
of clear acrylic ... then painted the 'frame' and undersides of
the cabinet door ... then attached it to the 'leg' with screws.
(wish I had done that first!)
5. Here's how my design turned out ...
