Making mosaics from old dishes can be fun!

1. Using old or inexpensive dishes to make a mosaic table can be done on old furniture, a piece of wood and a frame or (like here) even an old cabinet door
2. Elmer's Woodglue works fine for this project and gives you a longer drying time which allows you to place the pieces ... allow space for grouting later
3. I used an old Lamp base for the leg of this table ... I took out the wiring, it was made of plaster and easy to paint (and very heavy!)
4. Once the design was dry, I grouted and covered with three coats of clear acrylic ... then painted the 'frame' and undersides of the cabinet door ... then attached it to the 'leg' with screws. (wish I had done that first!)
5. Here's how my design turned out ...

Contact me on the message board if you have any question about how to do this project or any other projects you may be working on.
